Experience Matters

I have been in practice as a psychologist for two decades, in a variety of settings. My first internship in my doctoral program involved working with individuals diagnosed with cancer and their families both in individual and group therapy. This shaped who I have become as a therapist. My dissertation research at UCSD Moore's Cancer Center focused on a yoga intervention offered to women who had completed treatment for breast cancer. I continue to work with a variety of health diagnoses in an informed, respectful manner.

Prior to entering private practice in 2011 in San Luis Obispo, I lived in San Diego working primarily with active duty military and veterans. My post-doctoral hours were earned in an inpatient/outpatient facility working with adults, adolescents, and children. I received training in Exposure Therapy, Relaxation Training, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy/Cognitive-Processing Therapy for PTSD. I continued working with inpatient active duty military as well as working as a Research Therapist at the VA La Jolla.

I made the decision in 2011 to return closer to family and begin full-time private practice in San Luis Obispo. In 2022 I began studying and working intensely with Depth Psychology and the theories of Carl Jung. This work has led to a transformation not only in my personal life but also in my approach to working with clients. As of Fall 2026 I am a first year student at the C.G. Jung Study Center of Southern California beginning my training as a Jungian Analyst.
